Arborvitae Turned Brown After A Week Of High Temperatures

Question From: m. neubauer - Independence, Missouri, United States
Q: arbor vitae pines planted late spring all but one turned brown after a week of very high temp in area. still green inside trunk. will they come back. what to do

I don't have a crystal ball, but deep watering a couple times a week would be the prescription. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy

Q: will all the brown fall off and be replaced by green. Does that happen in the fall and winter and then come back green or do I cut off the brown. They are such an eyesore. I have been watering them more for 2 months and still rust brown.

If they have lost most of their needles or they have turned brown, they are probably dying. Take photos to the place you purchased them for advice. As I said before, I do not have a crystal ball. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
