Are The Trees In San Francisco Golden Gate Park Between The De Young Museum And The Academy Of Sciences London Plane Trees

Question From: Palo Alto, California, United States
Q: Are these the same trees as the knobby trees in the plaza between De Young Museum of Fine Arts and the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco? They are knobby-bare and denuded in winter, then sprout magically in spring, and the flower balls are itchy when stuffed into someone's collar.

I live in Michigan Magda so I can't answer your question. I'd contact the city administration for that information. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
