Q: I have had a pair of cardinals at my feeder every day all winter long , now spring has come they still visit, but also have the bully blackbirds that eat all the seeds and are a nuisance. Wondering if there is a different type of food or feeder I can replace in the summer for just the cardinals and finches I was getting before the black birds arrived.
A: You can buy finch feeders that use black niger seed and are not accessible by larger birds. I am not aware of specialized feeders for cardinals, but visit a wild birding store, such as Urban Nature Stores located in Ontario for advice. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
