Austrian Pine Tres Are Dropping Needles And Bud Ends Of Branches

Question From: New York, United States
Q: MY AUSTRIAN PINE TREES ARE DROPPING THE BUD END WITH NEEDLES AS IF THEY ARE CUT OFF AT THE BRANCH ENDS. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS? THESE ARE 22 YEARS OLD AND IT NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.

Could be squirrels, Tom, or ice damage combined with high winds. I have had both happen in my wooded lot this winter. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
