Question From: T. Lee - GEORGIA
Q: I planted beets seeds at the very end of September. I'm in zone 7 in NW Georgia. I pulled them up at the end of February. They were in a raised garden bed with compost and wood chips mixed into the soil. The soil was tested during the summer and amendments added. There was also a thick frost cloth over the bed. It appears as the berts wete "premies." They were not even the diameter of a quarter, as you will see in the photos. I was able to put a dozen beets in the palm of my hand. What did I do wrong?

A: You planted them too late. In zone 7 mid summer is the suggested cut off. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
