Bell Peppers Are Wrinkley And Skinny

Question From: Pleasanton, Nebraska, United States
Q: Hi Nancy I have been a gardener for years. My question is why are my bell peppers about 8 inches long and all wrinkley and real skinney, this has happened for the last 3 years. I always grew perfect bell peppers for many years before this. Is my soil lacking something? I tried the sulfer trick with no avail. Please help

I'm not aware of the sulfur trick.Excessive heat and lack of water will cause green peppers to become distorted. When the temps run into the 90's they can't take up water fast enough to develop normally. Try rigging some shade when things heat up. P.S. I'd get a soil test before adding straight nutrients to the soil. Check with you county horticulture agent. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
