Bird Bath On Deck Railing Is Not Being Visited By Birds

Question From: J. Gittemeier - Hazelwood, Missouri, United States
Q: I read for a bird bath the best place to put it, is southeast under a cover. what kind of cover and wouldn't that keep the birds from seeing it? I have a bird bath on my deck rail but it's not under cover. had it for 2 months with a water wiggled and not 1 bird has used it. any idea So?

Birds do not like to use bird baths located out in the open where they are in clear view of enemies. Cover can be branches of a shrub or tree. Water in bird baths in full sun can get very hot on sunny days. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
