Boxwood Shrubs Are Brown After Winter

Question From: J. Campbell - Plymouth, Michigan, United States
Q: My boxwood hedge and several of the boxwood shrubs around the property came out of the Winter having turned brown, Have those shrubs and part of the hedge died? Many of my neighbors and even the nicely landscaped local grocery store have/has the same problem. What is going on with the boxwoods? Is there a remedy?

Your boxwoods have suffered winter kill. Give them some time to see if latent buds emerge. You might be lucky. Do not fertilize them as that may do more harm than good. Do keep them watered. Best Nancy
