Boxwood Shrubs Turned Yellowish Brown

Question From: K. LYNCH - NEW YORK
Q: My boxwood shrubs have turned yellowish brown over the winter. Is that normal? It's now mid-March so should I trim off the yellow now or wait until they start to grow?

Kelly, The yellowish brown is probably wind burn and now is a good time to trim it back. You want to get it done before new growth starts in spring. The yellowish brown will not green up, so it has to go. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
