Boxwood Tops Are Yellow

Question From: D. Engle - Lititz, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: The tops of my Boxwoods are yellow (about and inch or so down the stems) from ice and snow laying on top of them. What can I do for them? Should I trim them back to the end of the yellow, or what? Thanks

A: You can prune off the yellow leaves. Be sure to keep the shrubs watered. I would also mulch around them with a good organic mulch. If you feel compelled to fertiize use an organic fertilizer such as Holly Tone according to package directions. Best Nancy
