Burning Bushes Do Not Turn Red Anymore

Question From: MICHIGAN
Q: We have 2 burning bushes and they do not turn as red as they used to, do you have any idea why? Something we are suppose to add to the soil?

Dee, Lack of sun will do it. Any chance you have trees or shrubs that are casting more shade then they used to. Burning bushes seemed to be especially brillant this year. There is nothing you can add to the soil to color it up. However, keeping the shrubs watered in time of drought is always helpful. If you have not fertilized it I suggest sprinkling Espoma Holly Tone under the canopy after the leaves fall. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
