Can 4 Inch Tall Detroit Red Beets Be Translplanted

Question From: k. thompson - Jackson, Georgia, United States
Q: Started Detroit red beets in container in green house .They have gotten almost 4 inches high .Can i still transplant to garden? if so how deep they have 1 set of true leaves.

Might be a little late, but give it a try. I plant them so the area where the leaves emerge is at but not below soil level. Do so carefully, Beets are usually planted in situ, which means from seed directly into the ground,. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
