Can A Plastic Bag Be Used To Protect Exposed Shrubs In Planters

Question From: NEW YORK
Q: u suggested to wrap bubble wrap around the planter and cover the top also with bubble wrap on planters that are too heavy to be moved. Can I also put a clear plastic bag over that container if it contains a shrub? Where r the answers posted, directly to me? Thx.

Shrubs should not be covered with plastic and left in containers in exposed areas. It acts as a green house and the interior will heat up in the sun. Take the shrub out of the container and plant it in the ground or cover it with a wooden box. It's still a crap shoot depending on the weather. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
