Can Asian Lilies With Brown Leaves Be Cut Back In Early September

Q: Asian lilies all the leaves are brown, with just couple green leaves on the top which are turning yellow now.In Wisconsin we have not had a frost yet. Would it be OK to cut them back now;being Sept 1st tomorrow?
