Can Brown And Yellow Leaves Be Pruned From Hosta Without Harming The Plant

Question From: Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: my hostas leaves are brown and yellow in some places can I prune them off without hurting the plant?

Yes you can cut off tatty leaves. Hopefully the brown and yellow are not horizontal streaks in the leaves. If so, take a couple of damaged leaves to a local independent nursery or garden center, not a big box, for an ID of the problem. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
