Can Hosta Thrive In Ground Covered With Small Crushed Rock

Question From: Morgantown, West Virginia, United States
Q: Providing Hosta plants are planted correctly, can you then layer the ground with small/crushed rock and still have the hostas thrive? Thank you.

That works, as long as the plants are not in too much sun. The stones will heat up and bake the plants. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
