Can I Eat Brocooli That Has Gone To Shoot And Can Broccoli Be Grown As A Perennial For Repeated Harvesting

Question From: R. Schlottman - Temecula, California, United States
Q: I did not harvest my broccoli on time and it has gone to long stems. Is is OK to eat these and can I harvest it in such a manner that it will re-grow?

While I don't think it will hurt you, but it may not taste very good. Broccoli is considered an annual but there is a variety that is said to be a perennial Google how to grow Broccoli as a perennial for more info. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
