Can Regal Petticoat Maple Be Used In Zone 5 Even Though It Is Cold Hardy To Zone 3

Question From: Livonia, Michigan, United States
Q: Regarding the Regal Petticoat Maple, your article says it is cold hardy to zone 3. Can we or can we not use it in our southeast Michigan (metro Detroit) zone 5? Thanks

Lucy, This tree would be hardy in the U.P. The lower the number the more cold hardy the plant. So, yes it is well suited for use throughout Michigan. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
