Can Roundup Be Used After Tomato Plants Are Removed From Garden

Question From: S. Abla - Dearborn Heights, Michigan, United States
Q: Is it OK to spray Roundup on the weeds in my garden since I've removed the tomato plants? I don't know the name of the weeds, but the leaves look like violets. Thanks for your help.

You can use Roundup if there are no valuable plants in the areas, as it will kill any live plants it touches. That said the manufacturer recommends use between 53 and 75 degrees when there will be no rain for six hours. I think you may have missed the window of opportunity and might be better to wait until spring or better yet get out the hoe. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
