I planted ornamental grass plants along my back fence line. If I put straw around them will it help to impede the growth of the regular grass until it freezes and again in the spring?
A: Straw layed thickly will keep grass seeds from sprouting in the exposed soil. Most decorative grasses to not have issues with turf grass establishing in the clumps. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
