Question From: Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, United States
Q: My common juniper was damaged when we had a tree removed on it fell on it. It has a few green branched but the center is pretty much dead. Should I prune all the way back to see if it will come back? I really don't want to give up on it! Thanks
A: Junipers naturally die out in the center. If you prune it back to the point it shows no green on a branch, the branch will not grow new needles. So if you have patience let it go and see what happens. If it looks bad chances are it will always look deformed. I'd replace it. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
