Climbing Rose Flowers Do Not Open Fully

Question From: S. Harmon - Vista, California, United States
Q: Hello Nancy. I have a very full climbing rose, much like peonies when it opens fully, but more often than not they don't open fully. Can you help me understand why?

A: My guess is a moisture problem, or possibly lack of sun. Roses are big drinkers and also benefit from regular fertilizing. Take photos of your plant to an independent garden center for a more accurate ID and control. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
