Climbing Rose Has Not Bloomed In Four Years

Question From: T. KOCHANNY - ILLINOIS
Q: MY CLIMBING ROSE HAS NOT BLOOMED IN FOUR YEARS. LOOKS HEALTHY; ABOUT 6 FT. TALL. OTHER NEARBY ROSES DO BLOOM. ANY SUGGESTION? THANKS

A: Plants usually fail to flower from too much nitrogen, too little sun and in the case of you climber it may be winter damage. I suggest you cut it back. Go easy on the fertilizer. Rose Tone from Espoma is a good choice. It needs 5 gallons of water a week. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
