Crabapple Tree Has Not Blossomed And Leaves Are Wilting

Question From: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Q: Our crabapple tree has not blossomed yet, it has been a really late spring in Minnesota. The leaves of the crabapple tree appear to be wilting, all the leaves on the tree appear to be wilting. What is this? What can be done to help the tree? Thanks, Barb Coleman

I can't diagnose the problem as I am not a tree doctor. Many trees did not flower this year as a result of winter burn. Your tree may be a victim of one of the most brutal winters on record. You might get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist but be prepared for the worst. Best Nancy
