Crepe Myrtle Buds Do Not Bloom

Question From: Tarpley, Texas, United States
Q: crape myrtle has lots of buds but they do not open up and bloom. what needs to be done?

Hot dry weather that expends for long periods of time can cause Crepes to slow growth and sort of go dormant. The buds refuse to open. A good heavy rain will kick start your tree or shrub. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
