Question From: Conroe, Texas, United States
Q: Part of my crape myrtle has dead branches and no blooms and other parts of the tree have blooms. It doesn't look like the bare branches have a disease or mildew. Its a tall tree and it has always done well, its in full sun and never over watered. We trimmed some branches in late winter before new growth.
A: Diane, I live in Michigan and have no experience growing Crapes. I recommend you have a certified arborist, a trained tree expert, inspect your tree. Heat and drought have weakened trees, making them vulnerable to insects and disease. You may have several issues that need addressing. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
