Crepe Myrtle Looks Healthy But Does Not Bloom

Question From: Sea Isle City, New Jersey, United States
Q: I planted my crape myrtle two years ago but it has not bloomed at all. It looks healthy but it just did not bloom. Any suggestions? It is a relatively small plant...only about 4 foot high.

A: Might be an age thing. They need a couple of years to mature. Could be a sun thing. They need full sun. Could be heat and water - lack there of. also, could be too much fertilizer. Hope you're not hosing it down with that blue stuff all the time. Lastly. Steve Bender, aka Grumpy from Southern Living says it could be a karma thing. Good Luck and Happy Yardening, Nancy
