Crepe Myrtle Shiny Liquid May Be Borers Or Aphids

Question From: J. Niedzwiedz - CALIFORNIA
Q: My crape myrtle bush is @ 10 yrs old, and this yr has shiny liquid stuff running down the trunk and on the leaves. Still looks beautiful and full of blooms but clearly something is wrong.

Sight unseen it's hard to diagnose, but you may have borers or aphids, or both. Try Bonide Annual Tree and Shrub Insect Control. One application - a soil drench lasts all year. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
