Crepe Myrtle Tree Blooms Turning Brown

Question From: C. McEwen - Georgetown, Texas, United States
Q: we have three huge (30') white crepe myrtle trees that are stunners every year when they bloom. They started blooming two weeks ago. The blooms are already turning brown on the tree....they have never done this in the six years we have lived in this house. What could cause this?

It's probably weather related. Too hot or too cold. Heavy rains will also trash flowers. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
