Cutting Back Clematis Paniculata And Playtycodon Grandiflours

Question From: i. feigenbum - NEW YORK
Q: I need information on far back to cut the following to plants for the winter: 1. clematis paniculata 2. playtycodon grandiflours

It's best to cut the clematis back in Spring just as the leaf buds are beginning to swell. Remove 4 of the oldest stems at base of plant and prune others back by half. Or shape as to please you. After Jack Frost hits remove blackened leaves. Happy Yardening, Nancy
