Question From: Lamar, Arkansas, United States
Q: I have just bought six daphne's "perfume Princess" and transplanted it into the ground. We had some hot days and I found the leaves starting to go black. I watered the plants every day. Could you please let me know what the problem is? The plants are exposed to direct afternoon sunlight, is this a problem?
A: You're overwatering these plants resulting in disease. The soil should be kept slightly moist. Hot afternoon sun is also a death threat. Early morning sun or dappled shade is best. Also be aware they are short lived plants. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
