Daphne Wilted And Leaves Are Turning Black

Question From: M. Pretlow - Wilmington, North Carolina, United States
Q: My daphne is looking very wilted and leaves turning black. I don't want to lose this shrub! What do I do?

Missy, Sadly I can't tell you what's wrong with your Daphne, but they are known to up and die for no apparent reason. Woody guru says it might be a virus for which there is no known cure. He also says the key to success with them is drainage, drainage, drainage. and they prefer a pH of 6 to 7. Hope this helps. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
