Question From: A. Wilson - NEW HAMPSHIRE
Q: Something is causing my daylily flower stems to be broken off cleanly like a knife has cut almost all the way through. And always about the same distance down from the flower head ~ about 5 to 6 inches. The flowers are just starting to form. There are no signs of bugs and it is not all the stems on each plant. There is no sign that the leaves are being chewed.
My guess is your day lilies are being eaten by deer. Use Plantskydd repellant spray to deter them. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
