Dead Pine Tree Branches Are Falling Off In Wind And Sap Runs Down Tree

Question From: Houston, Texas, United States
Q: The branches of my pine tree are falling off each time there's a strong wind or rain. These branches are dead and have shed pine needles already. The branches appear to be dry-rotted. However, I'm concerned because it appears that the tree is slowly eroding away. There also seems to be a split in the trunk of the tree as if it's infected or something. Sap is also running down the tree. Are these symptoms that you've experienced before?

Your tree is dying. I have not experienced these issues with my trees because I keep an eye on my trees and as soon as I see a problem I have the inspected by a certified arborist. To find a professional in your area go to www.tcia.org. Best Nancy
