Do All Perennials Begin Their Lives As Bulbs

Question From: M. Pesenti - Jacksonville, Oregon, United States
Q: Hi Nancy. I have a simple question that I can't locate an answer to. Do ALL perennials begin their life as bulbs??? I believe so but my wife says otherwise. Much internet research has netted me nothing. Your thoughts on this question is much appreciated. Thank you!

Michael, This time your wife is right. Actually, most perennials grow from seed. For a quick overview, visit a good nursery or garden center and peruse the seed racks, which are chuck full at this time of the year. Or, go on line and check out what's available at seed houses: Google sources of perennial seeds. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
