Do London Plane Trees Loose Their Leaves And What Trees Do Not Lose Their Leaves

Question From: Danville, California, United States
Q: do these type of trees loose its leaves and when. can you suggest a tree that does not loose its leaves or limited loss.

A: Think green needles Randy, as in evergreens. All deciduous trees shed their leaves. Some do it in fall, some in spring and others throughout the year. London plane trees have very large leaves and are probably not a good choice for you. While they are drought tolerant they do need deep watering now and then. Because I live in Michigan zone 5, I cannot give you good advice on what trees will grow best in your area. Recommendations will vary from Northern to Southern California.
