Do Viburnum Bushes Really Require So Much Water

Question From: M. Page - Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, United States
Q: I have planted Viburnum Ligustrum (spelling?) in my back yard about a week ago. I live in North FL so more or less a sandy soil. I was told to water them so that each bush gets 2 gallons of water a day. I have about 40 of these viburnums so watering them that much is going to be costly. Can you help me please confirm they need this much water? Thank you!!

A: Sounds about right to me. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
