Douglas Fir Tree Turned Brown On One Side But Underside Of Foliage Is Green

Question From: T. Connor - Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Q: We have, what I believe to be, a 10 ft. Douglas Fir that has turned brown on one side, yet is still green on the under side of it's foliage. Is it due to not enough water? We live in Las Vegas and it is January.

Could be a combination of things including - lack of water, wind burn an/ or chemical exposure. For a more accurate diagnosis get an on-stite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
