Question From: K. Herman - Glen Cove, New York, United States
Q: Two summers ago we planted close to 60 Emerald Greens along our property border. They all survived well during the two winters but noticed this year that one had rusted tips all on the south side of the tree. The sides and back are fine. Since the adjacent trees are fine we don't know what could have caused this and wonder if there is anything we can do to save this tree..........and don't know if we should be concerned about the near by trees. We don't see any bag worms or any clear form of infestation. What do you think and recommend (e.g., special spray, cut off all the rusted leaves, leave it alone, etc)? I have a photo but having difficulty transferring from phone. Let me know if you need to see . Thank you
A: You have a huge investment in arbs and therefore if they were my trees I would get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
