Endless Summer Hydrangea Has No Blooms This Year

Question From: Royal Oak, Michigan, United States
Q: I have several Endless Summer hydrangeas in front of my house (facing north). 2 years ago I had exactly 3 blooms. Last summer there were too many to count. This year - no blooms! Should I cut the plants to the ground, or leave them alone - fall or spring? Thank you

If you cut the plants back now you will have no blooms next year. Hot dry weather may have been the problem. Keep them watered going into winter if it does not rain. Also water them in season when it does not rain. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
