Fern Leaves Have Brown Edges And New Fronds Have White Powdery Substance

Question From: White Rock, British Columbia, Canada
Q: hello We have a large fern outside, healthy up until this year. It looks like it is dying, with brown edges to all the leaves and all the new fronds have a white powdery substance on them

A: Sounds like powdery mildew. Actinovate, a biological fungicide, is available in Canada. It is OMRI listed - safe for use on edibles. Brown tips are often caused by too much or to little water. Hope this helps, Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
