Fern Leaves Turning Brown

Question From: Hackett, Arkansas, United States
Q: MY FERN LEAVES ARE TURNING BROWN THE FERN IS IN A POT ON MY HOUSE IN FRONT OF A WEST FACING WINDOW IT HAS BEEN DOING GREAT GROWING REALLY GOOD BUT NOW THIS PROBLEM

Lack of water will cause fern leaves to turn brown on the edges. Too much water may cause crown rot, which is a fungal disease. The stems in the center of the plant turn brown first and then the entire leaf goes. Once it gets going crown rot is usually fatal. You could try treating it with a fungicide. Go to you local independent nursery and ask for a fungicide labeled for indoor use. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
