Fertilizer For Yellowing Ivy Topiary

Question From: NORTH CAROLINA
Q: I have 2 ivy topiaries and they are yellowing. I've had them in the same pots for about 3 yrs. Would you please suggest a fertilizer for them. Thanks!

Generally, indoor plants are not fertilized during the winter. Feeding starts in March. That said, yellowing leaves may be a sign of lack of nitrogen. I would feed them with a fish emulsion at half strength for a couple of weeks and see if the leaves don't color up. Happy Yardening, Nancy
