Q: I have a 5 yr old flowering plum tree that has been beautiful. This year it is not budding out. There are no signs of disease or insect infestation. I am so upset Do you have any ideas about what could have happened to it. I live in NY

It may have suffered from heat and lack of water in summer and a harsh winter. However, don't count it out quite yet. Due to the cold weather, spring is a bit late this year. Give is some time. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
