Forsythia Bush Leaves Are Turning Yellow And Limbs Have Black Center

Question From: W. Martin - Marietta, Georgia, United States
Q: I have a well established hedge of a dozen forsythia bushes. Two have died this spring and summer, another has started turning yellow (all leaves)---limbs have black center. As before, the other bushes look healthy right now. What should I do?

Sounds like your shrubs have a fungal disease. Bag up cuttings of branches that show symptoms to your local independent garden center or nursery for an accurate ID and recommendation for control. In the mean time keep them watered. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
