Hemlock Is Thinning And Has White Substance On Some Branches

Question From: MASSACHUSETTS
Q: I have older hemlocks that are thinning and have this white substance on some branches. Do I do a major trimming, or little at a time

I recommend you get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find a professional in your area go to www.TCIA.org and click& on find a tree care professional in your area and enter your zip code.Your hemlocks may have wooly adelgids which can be lethal.
Best Nancy
