Hemlock Tree Branches Are Turning Brown On Tops And Sides Of Trees

Question From: Massachusetts, United States
Q: We have had our hemlock trees for over 20yr now and suddenly now the ends of the branches are turning brown. Its the tops and sides of the trees. Its winter here, and as you know it has been a rough one. They get plenty of sun. Could the cold weather pushed them over the edge this year? What shall we do? I can take a picture if that would help.

Roxane, I would have a trained professional take a look. That's what I do when my trees have problems. Often times trees can have= more then one issue. A bad guess or a missed diagnosis could cost you your tree. To find a certified arborist in your area go to www.tcia.org.  Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
