Hemlock Tree Is Dropping Lots Of Needles And Seems To Be Dying

Question From: Bridgeton, New Jersey, United States
Q: Help! My Hemlock looks like it is dying all of a sudden! A bad storm was predicted so I went out to cover my vehicle, as I was doing this a wind came & instantly I was being "showered" with hemlock needles. I was heartsick as I have had them for 17 years. I've been letting the hose trickle water around it steady for the last 4 days but do not know what else to do to save it [approx 25' tall] Please, if you have any advise call me.

I would get an onsite inspection from a professional, a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Do not fertilize the tree. Water the tree so the soil remains moist but not sodden. Daily watering may drown it. Good Luck and thanks for visiting Yardener.com
