Hibiscus Buds Turn Yellow And Empty Inside

Question From: Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States
Q: I have a hardy Hibiscus and she is covered with blooms but half of them are yellow/ brown and have NO bloom inside. What do I need to do?

I think you have a beetle that is boring into the bud to lay its eggs. Spraying it with a product containing spinosad should work. Do this in very early morning or late in the day when the bees have gone to bed. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
