Question From: J. BENSON - Panama City, Florida, United States
Q: I planted a cutting from a 10 ft. Hibiscus Bush last year and it is growing just great and is now 3 feet high giving off very nice trumpet blossoms. But! out of one of the branches at the bottom and above ground, another plant is growing and getting as big as the mother Hibiscus bush. A water Lillie with leaves four times larger than the mother Hibiscus Bush. Is this some freak of nature or does this happen other times growing other bushes of a different species. Many thanks for any help
A: My guess is you have another plant growing in the Hibiscus clump. It was probably a seedling hiding in the soil. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
